VA pension appeal and complicated outcome

Question:

Excerpt from my 2148: This matter comes to the Department of VA Pension Management Center Board of Veterans' Affairs Claims (board) on appeal from a March 2011 non-rating decision of the Department of Veterans Affairs Pension Management Center. On or about that year, 2011, submission of the veteran did not testify before any board. And the only transcript was of the veteran’s original claim, and appeal  associated with the file. On or about January 2012 erred in the decision, the board denied the veteran's claim of entitlement as non-service connection. The veteran subsequently appealed this issue to the VA  Board of Appeals for Veterans Claims,  the Department of Veterans Affairs Pension Management Center. While that case was pending of this entity, the veteran also filed (appealed) to vacate the board's decision and remand the veteran's claim for re adjudication. On or about May 2015 order, the Department of Veterans Affairs Pension Management Center granted the appeal, denied the board's January 2012 decision, and remanded this case to the Board for one-time payment for claims. It is now appropriate for the board to decide the original claim for re adjudication (pension).

The question[s]: 1) With this being the case, yes, the VA forwarded a one-time payment but I was going for the pension (originally)). Do I utilize the form 21-526ez or 21-527ez?  (527ez) is for the pension right?) 2) Is this considered a new claim (or piggy-back off the original claim, & can I request  this to be expedited?  if so, how do I do that? thx.

Jim's Reply:

I believe that the 21-526ez is the correct form. I'd also think this would be incorporated with any existing claims and if you wish it to be expedited, include a message as to why that should occur.
