Question:
My deceased husband's rating was 30% service-connected disability, and DFAS was deducting that amount from his regular retirement check as his VA benefits. Later, the VA claim we submitted before he died was approved after he died, and his rating was upgraded to 100%. Did the VA include the money DFAS deducted on his back pay, since he could have qualified for CRDC if he had been alive when his claim was approved back to 2012? He died in 2013. Just wondering.

There are too many variables for me to be able to accurately answer your question. I'd offer that you should get in touch with DFAS and seek an answer there.
