PTSD Reevaluation

Question:

I went for a PTSD re-evaluation exam in July. When I got my disability letter, it stated that there has been some improvement in my health as far as PTSD, but kept me at my rating and stated future examination will happen. What steps do I need to take? I still continue my therapy with a social worker and psychiatrist every two months and take my meds.

Jim's Reply:

What you're experiencing is normal and routine. You don't need to make any adjustments or take any particular steps. I'd suggest that you continue to heal by keeping up the current therapy and taking your prescribed medications. Future exams are almost always a part of any mental health rating and we just have to anticipate and deal with them.
