Chronic knee pain during active duty

Question:

Hello Jim, I was active duty for about 7 months and discharged with an entry level separation. Long story short with all the running and kneeling we were doing in basic training I started to have very chronic knee pain. Even went to sick call and therapy for it. I cried getting through my final PT test from basic training because the knee pain was so bad, but I had to keep running. It's been two years that I've been home from AIT with an entry level separation and since day one of me being home my husband tells me I complain about my knees hurting and I hear myself too. It's still painful bending down on my knees just like it was getting through basic training. Do you think I would be eligible for disability?

Jim's Reply:

Yes. I believe it is likely that you are eligible for a rating. Begin your claim here https://www.va.gov/disability/how-to-file-claim/
