DOD employee was injured in Afghanistan

Question:

My husband worked for the Department of Defense as and employee and was deployed to OIF/OEF from 2007 thru 2010. Boot Camp Fort Benning. He was injured in Afghanistan with a TBI crush injury he is on SSD for that injury. Is he not entitled to a disability rating from the D.O.D.?

Jim's Reply:

To say that someone worked for DoD isn't helpful. There are thousands of contractors who get paid by DoD and each will have their own insurances and personnel policies. You need to talk with his direct employer and maybe even a disability lawyer to determine what benefits he may have.
