Remembering Jim

Jim Strickland was a Vietnam era Army veteran and nationally recognized expert on VA disability benefits who was also editor and webmaster of the popular VA Watchdog website. Jim wrote extensively about VA and Social Security disability benefits. Before his recent passing, Jim was kind enough to answer questions from visitors on StatesideLegal.org here in Jim's Mailbag. Question:

I am an active duty service member. I found a program that I would like to apply for and was assured by Headquarters Air Force that I was eligible. I submitted my package. Now my package has been denied because HAF has re-evaluated their previous interpretation of the AFI. No one is willing to advise me on this situation. Please help.

Jim's Reply:

I'm sorry but you've not given us any information to work with. I'd have to guess that you're going to need to seek JAG support if you feel like your rights have been violated.
