Will the VA reduce my rating if my prostate cancer is no longer active?

Question

I had my C&P exam with VA they said since my prostate cancer was still active they may not cut my 100% what do you think? I have side effects big time.

If your cancer is active, you should continue to receive the 100% benefit. If treatment has lowered your PSA and/or other indicators that the cancer may not be active, then you'll be rated for the residuals of treatments. Those residuals are usually leakage of urine and urinary urgency and frequency. Depending on the level of problems the residuals rating will be 20%, 40% or 60%. The rating is based mostly on how many disposable pads (adult diapers) you use in a day.

You can also file for erectile dysfunction if that's an issue.

Ultimately, if your cancer is active and VA attempts to lower the 100% rating, you should appeal.
