Check now to see if you're eligible for CRDP/CRSC. It'll save you from a headache later

Mr. Strickland,

First and foremost, thank you for your time in taking a look on my question here.

Here’s my current situation, in 1994, the US navy placed me on the temporary disability retirement program and I was discharged honorably and I was receiving my monthly retirement pay. After 5 years, they placed me in a permanent disability retirement program and still continue to receive my monthly retirement pay. But in 2013, VA rated me with 100% disability and they stopped my monthly retirement pay.

I served honorably in the US Navy with time in service of 18 years, 11 months and 17 days according to my service record.

Why am I not entitled to my navy retirement? Please help me Mr.Strickland on my case and thank you for your time.

Unfortunately, I don't know for sure why your military retirement pay was stopped. That's a DoD decision, not a VA decision. My expertise is limited to VA administrative policies and procedures.

I suspect that it's because we aren't always allowed to "double dip"...receive 2 medical disability payments simultaneously.

There are programs that may allow you to receive both the military retirement benefit and the VA disability benefit.

You should check the following to determine whether you're eligible for CRDP/CRSC...
