How to get dependent benefits for your spouse

Question

I am a 100% p&t veteran. I married my caregiver recently. (On my letter the box is checked that says permanent and total) my question is, will the VA re-exam me just because I got married? I’m not afraid of an exam at all. I see my doctor every 3 months. We just extended to every 6 months.

Congratulations! We wish you and your spouse the best. That you've married shouldn't have any particular effect on your disability benefits...there shouldn't be any re-exam ordered. It'll be a year or so before your spouse is eligible for most dependents benefits. You can get more information about dependents eligibility here https://explore.va.gov/health-care/spouses-dependents-survivors
