Federal Poverty Guidelines
Many federal and state benefit programs use the Federal Poverty Level Guidelines [FPL] to decide who qualifies. For example, your household may need to have income at or below 200% of the FPL in order for your children to qualify for Medicaid. The WIC program, a nutritional program for pregnant women and young children, serve households with incomes up to 185% of the FPL. This chart sets out the Guidelines for the current year.
