Veteran's who are fully or partially disabled may qualify for different programs that will pay them money on a regular basis. Often the particular programs that you qualify for will depend on such factors as whether your disability is service-connected, the percentage of you disability, and age. There are four (4) disbility programs that veterans may qualify for:
- Military Disability: A program run by the military services for service-connected injuries meeting certain qualifications.
- VA Disability Compensation: The disability program run by the Department of Veterans Affairs intended to compensate veterans for loss of quality of life and civilian employability.
- VA Disability Pension: A non-service connected disability program run by the VA for wartime veterans who have a certain income level.
- Social Security Disability Insurance: A federal disability program available to qualifying veterans and non-veterans alike.
